CLASSICOS
///SHORT MOVIE
///ROLE: CONCEPT+FILMMAKER
In 2014, with the FIFA World Cup taking place in Brazil, Festival do Minuto (a long-running one-minute film festival) announced a special competition dedicated to soccer. As a filmmaker, I saw this not as a chance to celebrate the global spectacle, but as an opportunity to honor the real, everyday soul of Brazilian soccer.
My concept was a tribute to the countless "classic matches" played every single day on the streets, parks, and empty lots
across the country. The short film was built on a simple, powerful truth about my culture: we have the power to see a goal anywhere. Any two objects can define a pitch, and any space can host a championship. The film is a celebration of that improvised, relentless passion.
I was incredibly honored and proud when the film was chosen as the Grand Prize Winner of the festival for 2014, a special recognition during a historic year for football in Brazil.
